Vincent Brown

BrownVincent Edward Brown of Glencoe, Ontario, passed away peacefully at age 85 at the Sprucedale Care Centre in Strathroy, Ontario, on Monday, January 22, 2018. He is survived by his spouse, Carole Gee, two sons, Peter and Timothy, and seven grandchildren Paris, Katherine, Abel, Paul, Hope, Leah and Owen, as well as by a sister, Bernice, and two brothers, James and Alex. He will be missed by so many. Vincent was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Lillian (Smith), his wife Isabel (McEachern), one sister, Mary Elizabeth, and two brothers, Hugh and Eugene. Vince taught school first in the Sarnia area, then Fergus, Dorchester, Strathroy and Glencoe, and was a vice-principal in Strathroy and Glencoe. Among his many activities, Vince was also a geographer (B.A. and M.A., University of Western Ontario), farmer, pilot, woodworker, amateur radio enthusiast, students’ chaperon, and retirement advisor. A Memorial Service will be held at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street Glencoe on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. Visitation one hour prior (12:30 to 1:30 p.m.) Interment St. Matthew’s Cemetery, Alvinston. Contributions in memory of Vincent may be made to the Alzheimer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
