Peacefully with his family at his side, at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, February 22, 2014, Hendricus Johannes “Henk” van Burgsteden of Dutton and formerly of R.R. 4 Appin in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Rita. Dear father of Maria, Wim, Anneke (Steve Lee), Christa, Melinda, Suzie and Peter (1965). Loved by his grandchildren; Julia, Steven, Daniel, Laura, Sarah, Jerry, Angela, Randi and Tyler and great grandchildren; Aiden, Audrey, Emily and Cassandra. Survived by 3 sisters Jo, Annie and Mien and one brother Wim all of Holland. Predeceased by one sister Ally and 3 brothers Jim, Kees and Jerald. Relatives and friends will be received at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes St., Glencoe on Tuesday evening from 6-9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, West Lorne on Wednesday, February 26th at 11a.m. Fr. Thomas Kuricacko officiating. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
