It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected death of Nathan Wayne Symington. Nathan died peacefully at the London Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the age of 17 with his family by his side. Nathan is loving son of Jo-Anne (nee Nichols) and the late Wayne Symington (2010), cherished brother of Hannah Symington (Brendan Wygergangs). Nathan will be remembered by many aunts, uncles and cousins and will be sadly missed by his best friend Shawn Morrow. Nathan is the grandson of the late Orland and Phyllis Nichols and the late Clifford and Edna Symington. Nathan will be remembered for his skill and love of welding, and his job with DT Welding. He enjoyed fixing and building things, fishing, cutting wood and the outdoors. His many cats that he lovingly cared for will miss him. Nathan loved his ice cream, toast and peanut butter on a plate. He was a grade 12 student at LCCVI in Petrolia. We would like to thank Lambton OPP, Lambton EMS and Petrolia & North Enniskillen Fire Department who all responded. We also thank the staff of CEE site of Bluewater Health and the Paediatric Critical Care Unit of the London Health Science Centre for their excellent care and compassion for Nathan. Through the Trillium Gift of Life Network, Nathan will continue to help others. Relatives and friends will be received at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 3232 River Street, Alvinston on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service to Celebrate Nathan’s life will be held on Friday, November 30th at 1:00 p.m. at Brooke Alvinston Inwood Community Complex, 3310 Walnut St. Alvinston. Memorial donations in Nathan’s memory may be made to LHSC Paediatric Critical Care Unit or Life’s Seasons (Sarnia).
