Peacefully at her home at Appin, on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 Rose “Marie” Macfie passed away in her 69th year. Beloved wife of Duncan. Dear mother of Nancy (Brad) Kew, Kenn (Sam) Macfie and James Macfie. Loving grandmother of Derek and Echo Kew and Jaxon Macfie. Survived by her brothers Jack (Mary) Giles and Bob (Anna) Giles as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends. Marie was a dedicated nurse at SMGH for 38 years and was a member of the Glencoe Lioness Club and was a recipient of the Helen Keller Award. She will be remembered for her love of music, laughter and her cats. Relatives and friends will be received at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 11 a.m. Rev. Cheryl Bolton officiating. Interment to follow at the Appin Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation. Glencoe Lioness will conduct a service at the funeral home on Friday at 6:45 p.m.
