Peacefully at Watford Quality Care Nursing Home, Watford, on Monday, March 26, 2012, Matilda Helene, “Mae” Douglas (nee Burchell) formerly of Alvinston in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her husband James Arnold Douglas (1982). Dear mother of Susan (Brian) Lahey of Chatham. Loved by her grandsons Patrick Lahey of Chatham and Steven Lahey of Alberta. Survived by one sister Ann (Robert) Bean of Waterloo. Predeceased by her parents, William C. and Matilda (Mayhew) Burchell and one brother Carlton Burchell. Relatives and friends will be received at the Van Heck Visitation Centre, 3232 River Street, Alvinston on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 29 at 11 am. Rev. Jo-Anne Symington officiating. Interment to follow at the Kilmartin Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Guthrie Presbyterian Church, Alvinston or the CNIB.
