It is with great sadness that the nieces and nephews of Gerald (Uncle Jerry) Tunks announce his passing on Monday, June 1, 2020 at the age of 90 years. Jerry worked the family farm all his life in Wardsville until entering Babcock Community Care Centre in 2015. His life was farming and he was happiest when he was on his farm. He brought so much joy to the sons and daughters of his brothers and sisters by his gentle teasing, his jokes and taking them on journeys around the farm with him when we were all children. He continued this joy with his great nieces and nephews in later years. Jerry is predeceased by his father Clifford Tunks (1993), mother Amy (1984), brother Melvin (Bud) (2000) and sister Beryl (2016). He leaves behind his oldest sister Evelyn Lancaster and older brother Morley (Pete). He will be so strongly missed by nieces and nephews and their spouses, Sharon Stewart, Janis Lancster, Gary Tunks, Kathy Matuzich, Paul Tunks, Carol Revell and Beth Wilson and their families. The family would like to thank the staff at Babcock Community Care Centre and Dr. Shelly Sharma for gentle, loving and professional care that they provided to Uncle Jerry over recent years. It was greatly appreciated. Private family funeral will be held at the Van Heck Funeral Home, Glencoe and interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. (Attendance is restricted). Memorial donations may be made to the Babcock Community Care Centre (Resident’s Council).
