On Thursday August 20, 2015 at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury, John Owen “Jack” Thomas of Glencoe, passed away in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Gladys (Currie). Son of the late Annie (Morrison) and Owen John Thomas of Welland. Dear father of Ruth Anne (Colin) Johnston, Carolyn (Edward) Goerzen all of St. Catharines, Scott (Pamela) Thomas of South Portland, Maine, Jane Thomas (Jan Varkevisser) of Ancaster and David Thomas (Tori Irwin) of Bothwell . Cherished grandfather of Sarah Essig (Johnston) of St. Catharines, Lee Johnston of Nelson BC, Stephanie and Allison Cronkwright, Benjamin, Lucas and Aaron Goerzen and great grandfather of Mathias and Isabella Essig all of St. Catharines. Fondly remembered by Barbara Thomas of St. Catharines, the mother of his five children. Jack was born and raised in Welland and attended the university of Western Ontario majoring in accounting. Residing in St. Catharines until 2005, his lengthy career was focused on computer systems installation and management until retirement. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Hull, Dr. Sharma and the nursing staff at FCHS for their kindness and support during this difficult time. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will follow at a later date. Expressions of flowers and charitable donations are gratefully declined. As we recall precious memories of our times with this dear man, raise a glass and say “Thank God for Jack”.
