It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cheryl Lyons on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury at the age of 57. Cheryl passed peacefully with her loving family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving wife of 37 years to Brian Lyons and mother to her cherished sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffery and Laura, Craig and Nicole, and Steven and Courtney. Cheryl was a proud grandmother to Olivia, Elle, Lowen, Wren and soon-to-be grandson. She will be deeply missed by her brother Tim Walker (Noreen), sister Bonnie Walker (Chris), father-in-law Jim Lyons, as well as her in-laws, nieces and nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Harold and Joan Walker and her mother-in-law Dolline Lyons. Cheryl grew up on the family farm in South Caradoc. She met Brian, her high school sweetheart, during the summer of 1984. Shortly thereafter, they started their life together in Appin where they raised their three boys. She loved the countless days spent at ball diamonds and hockey arenas across Ontario watching her boys play. Cheryl enjoyed hosting loved ones at the family home or cottage. She was a dedicated employee at L.H. Gray for 37 years, where she served as a production planner. Our family gives many thanks to the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre for all of their hard work during Cheryl’s journey. We want to extend a special heartfelt thank you to registered nurse Hayley Pavey and Dr. Thivian Vandeyar for their exceptional care and support during this difficult time. Cheryl was a kind and compassionate soul who touched the lives of many. Her love for family and community was evident in everything she did. In honour of her giving spirit, donations in her memory can be made to the Ekcoe Central Public School (Nutrition Program).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 12th, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Glencoe Agricultural Hall, 268 Currie Street, Glencoe. Cheryl requested casual attire. Cheryl’s kindness, love, and infectious laugh will forever remain in our hearts.
