With heavy hearts and thanksgiving for her life, the family of Shirley Marie Towers announce her passing at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Saturday, April 13, 2013, in her 86th year. Beloved wife of Verne G. Towers for 63 years. Dear mother of Marie (Ashok) Newton, Anne (Richard) Smith and Stanley (Dawnna) Towers. Loving grandmother of Sanjay (Lauren), Priya (Ben), Nathan, Heather, Hannah, Caleb, Tara (Adam), Cameron (Steph) and Teegan. Also survived by her 2 brothers, George Stanley, John (Marnie) Stanley and her sister, Joan Wiseman. Predeceased by 2 sisters Jean Elder and Mina Adams. Relatives and friends will be received at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes St., Glencoe on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 17at 11 AM. (visitation for the hour prior) Rev. Canon Harvey Parker officiating. Interment to follow at the Appin Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation.
