Quietly at Sprucedale Care Centre, Strathroy on Monday, December 24, 2018, Jean Ellen Hailstone, in her 95 year was called home. Jean was 1 of 8 children born to Oscar Emerson Collins (a butcher by trade) and Mary Ellen Lightfoot. Jean is predeceased by all of her 7 siblings, Ila, Violet, Oscar, Jenny, Edith, Grant and Evelyn. In September 1943, Jean married Levi Wesley (Pat) Case and together they raised 5 children until Pat’s passing September 7, 1966.
Jean is predeceased by 3 of her own blessed children, Donna Jean Gregson (2002) (Tom), Lorne Oscar Case (2008) and Shirley Bernice Gregory (2018). Also predeceased by her sons-in-law, George Skinner (2016), Fred Fonger (1972) and Paul Gregory (1999). She leaves behind 2 loving daughters, Mary Anne Skinner and Ruth (Mike) Huston. She will be fondly and lovingly remembered by her 12 grandchildren Jeanette (Stig), Doug (Tracey), Mark (Sherry), Paula, Kimberley, Sharlene (Frank), Tanya (Sherry), Shannon (Byron), Crystal (Barry), Lacey (Drashad), Wesley (Brittany), Lyndsay and 13 great-grandchildren. On March 16, 1974, Jean married Thomas Glen Mills and they celebrated 26 years of marriage together. Glen passed away December 24, 2000. On February 14, 2002, she married William (Bill) Hailstone. Bill Hailstone passed away June 10, 2010. Jean was the matriarch of our family, an inspiration to us all and an angel here on earth. Now she is reunited with her many loved ones that have passed before her and will continue to guide us as our guardian angel. Funeral Service Monday, December 31, 2018 at 12 noon at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at the Appin Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation or charity of your choice.
