At Watford Quality Care, on Saturday, August 18, 2018, Donald Campbell McKinlay of Alvinston passed away in his 98thyear. Predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth of almost 70 years. Dear father of Burton (Marilyn) McKinlay of Alvinston and Joan (Mitch) Kennedy of Stratford. Loved by his grandchildren Adam (Lucila) McKinlay of Toronto, Christine (Rod) Smith of Embro and Robert McKinlay of Vancouver. Great-grand father of Clara Rose and Dean Smith and Alejandra McKinlay. Also survived by his brother-in-law Robert Chapman of Petrolia. Predeceased by his sister Anna Annett and brother Norman McKinlay. Don was a long time farmer who was actively involved in his farm operation until his 91styear. He served his community and his church on various committees and was a past president of the Alvinston Rotary Club. Don and Ruth loved to travel and play euchre. They spent winters in Florida for over 30 years. Relatives and friends will be received at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 3232 River Street, Alvinston on Monday, August 27thfrom 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A memorial service will be held at 11am Tuesday, August 28th at Hope United Church, Alvinston with Rev Jim Breen officiating. Interment to follow at the Alvinston Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hope United Church or charity of your choice.
