There are no words to describe the profound sadness our family feels to announce the passing of both of our parents. Karel Peter van Rensen, May 28, 2014, and Anne Patricia (Dempsey) van Rensen, May 30, 2014, of Appin Ontario, left this world together forever. Loved parents of Ellen (Bob) Brisebois, Paulina (Jason) Robertson and Jennifer van Rensen. Kind, loving brother of Rita (Ed) Bouwmeester, Kit (Jim) Puddephatt and brother-in-law to Annie. “Our Anne” to Dot and Steve (Margaret) of England. Anne and Peter will be missed by their nieces and nephews in Canada, USA, England and Holland. Predeceased by their parents, Karel and Ursula van Rensen and Ellen and Steven Dempsey, Peter’s brother Jurgen and Anne’s sister Irene and brother-in-law Billy. Our parents enjoyed the simple things in life, be it family dinners, playing cards or spending countless hours on a boat with their life-friends, Gabriella and George Miholics. After immigrating to Canada, Mom and Dad married and had recently celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. Nana and Opa’s lights of their life, Jillian and Meagan Brisebois , Karson and Channer Robertson. Be it tea parties, impromptu dance recitals or cars and historical chats, Nana and Opa were happiest in the company of their “little ones”. Peter was synonymous with Glencoe Minor Soccer for over 30 years, many years after his own children were no longer involved. Always the willing volunteer. Dad was always where he needed to be. Quick wit and easy nature, Mom and Dad, forever dedicated, to family and friends, will live on in the life lessons to their children and grandchildren. In keeping with their wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Thursday June 5, 2014 from 6-9 p.m. at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Four Counties Health Services Foundation (X-ray Suite Campaign).
