Peacefully, with her daughters at her side, on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, Helen Isobel Evans (nee Gentleman) passed away at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Jack Evans (2003). Loving mother of Nancy Whitelaw, Barbara Singleton (John), and Kathryn Evans (Dale Bray). Predeceased by daughter Sandra Evans (2012). Beloved grandmother of Andy Whitelaw, Lisa Whitelaw, Tom Singleton (Katie), Jordan Bray (Carrie), and Joel Bray (Andrew). Great-grandmother to Rya, Kyle, and Colton Walford (Whitelaw), Molly Whitelaw, Ben and Nick Singleton, and Carson and Marshall Bray. Dear sister of Bob Gentleman and Terry Gentleman (Joan), and sister-in-law Doreen. Predeceased by brother Don. Fondly remembered by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Helen was the daughter of James and Minnie (Mullins) Gentleman. We will always remember Helen’s quiet strength and dignity, her dry humour, her appreciation of nature, and her devotion to her family. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Seasons Retirement Home Strathroy for their kind and compassionate care of Helen for the past five years. A private family service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Van Heck Funeral Home, Glencoe. Interment at Longwoods Cemetery, Melbourne. Masks required for those attending.
